"What Shall I Wear to the Revolution" – An Art Exhibit by Heather Linke

November 22, 2024 | 7–9 PM | The Archway on Glass, 2523 Glass Street, Chattanooga, TN

Through a series of garment-inspired artworks, local artist Heather Linke invites you to explore the profound connections between clothing, identity, and self-discovery through her collection What Shall I Wear to the Revolution.

This exhibit offers a deeply personal reflection on Linke’s own journey of cultural and spiritual exploration. Her work draws from her experience in Eurocentric living history, domestic crafts, and religious leadership, weaving together themes of heritage, femininity, and protest. Each piece reimagines traditional garment-making practices and subverts conventional notions of dress to create a compelling dialogue about identity and empowerment.

What Shall I Wear to the Revolution showcases more than just clothing—it tells stories and invites viewers to reflect on how what we wear communicates who we are, where we come from, and who we are becoming. The exhibit also opens space for dialogue about navigating spiritual transitions, reclaiming heritage, and challenging societal norms.

Join us for an evening of art, discussion, and reflection on the intersections of craftsmanship, heritage, and identity in the roles that clothing and craft play in shaping and expressing our personal and collective histories.

Free and open to the public

Don't miss this opportunity to engage with art that challenges and inspires conversations about self-expression, resistance, and the ways we use clothing to navigate change.
